Eagle Mountain update – Manhandler and Three Little Pigs are OPEN

May 30, 2018 at 10:47 am

Manhandler & Three Little Pigs are officially OPEN!

Thank you to everyone for your patience while these trails were brought up to RSTBC standards. We are grateful to all the builders of these trails over the years as well as the current builders, Brendan Gauthier, Ryan Clozza, Steve Sheldon and the TORCA team. Another big thank you goes to all the TORCA trail day volunteers who helped keeping this project on track after the prolonged winter. A big shout out also goes to TD Friends of the Environment for the grant of $7500 for tools, signage and labour.

So, get out there and enjoy the trails! We will be highlighting these trails in our upcoming TORCA 500 Duo race.

Stay tuned for “Phase 2” of the Manhandler build, which will include optional stunts!

Burke Mountain update

January 15, 2018 at 4:08 pm

Lower Burke Mountain trail updates

February 5 – Trail reroutes are now in effect. Please see below.

January 19 – details regarding construction on Harper Rd.

Frank’s, Flow and Hustler will have rerouted exits starting February 1st. These reroutes will be in place until at least February 28th, in order to avoid user conflicts with road building operations near the hairpin corner on Harper Rd. Frank’s will see the most dramatic exit change as it will exit onto Conifer Rd during this time.  Hustler and Flow will exit onto Harper Rd near where the two trails meet. TORCA and Wesbild are in consultation to provide new options that allow as much trail to remain as possible once the road construction is complete. In the meantime, please consider starting your rides at the Conifer (green) gate or the yellow gate near the gun club, and please respect all signage, fencing and directions. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated!

January 15

The City of Coquitlam is requiring Wesbild to reroute the Harper Rd extension from the hairpin corner. This means the temporary rerouting of Frank’s and Hustler trails while they install drainage and remove trees. Wesbild is being extremely cooperative in working with TORCA to allow the trails on their land to remain accessible for as long as possible while preventing conflicts between trail users and heavy equipment that will be on the mountain.

We will share more details as they become available to us. In the meantime, please respect all fencing and flagging as our cooperation is required in order to keep the trails open.
