Trail day – Eagle Mountain – Sunday, December 3rd

We are finally going back to Eagle Mountain and will give Manhandler our undivided attention.

Meet us at the Gravel Lot beside Aspenwood Elementary

When: 9 AM for coffee & snacks, sign waivers
Head out on the trail at 9:15 AM
Lunch time is around 1:30 – 2 PM

This trail day is sponsored by Pitt Meadows Cycle.

Lunch, snacks and coffee will be provided. Please bring some water and a pair of gloves.

No experience necessary!

If you can’t make it to the trail day but still want to help out, consider pitching in with a few bucks and earn some trail karma while you’re at it. Even $5 goes a long way.

TORCA AGM 2017

The Tri-cities Off Road Cycling Association (TORCA) is pleased to formally announce the date of its Annual General Meeting.

Date: Wednesday November 29, 2017
Time: 7:00pm-8:30pm
Where: Coquitlam’s City Center Library (Room 137) 1169 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam

We will recap our accomplishments from the past year, discuss our direction for 2018, review our financial statement, and hold elections for the TORCA executive positions.

We are looking for some passionate and committed people to join the executive. We are looking for some passionate and committed people to join the executive.  Executive job descriptions are available here (click to view).  If you are interested in running for one of these positions, please email ken@torca.ca with your name and the position you are interested in so that we may prepare the ballots before the AGM. Nominations will also be accepted at the meeting.

If joining the TORCA executive isn’t your thing but you still want to be involved, joining a committee.  We are looking for people help with races, fundraising, social media/website, trail building, and special events.  If any of these appeal to you, please let a director know at the AGM or email ken@torca.ca .

Everyone is welcome to attend the AGM. However, only TORCA members who have paid their annual membership are entitled to vote.  Voting by proxy is not permitted.

TORCA Photo Contest

“Hit us with your best shot!”

Everyone experiences our trails a bit differently and sees them through a different lens. We want you to show us your view. We have a great contest for you, sponsored by our friends at Pitt Meadows Cycle.

Here are the short details. For full contest rules please visit “Photo contest rules“.

  • All photographs should accurately reflect and be shot within Port Moody, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Anmore and Belcarra, British Columbia, Canada. All photography outside these areas will be disqualified.
  • Entries should be submitted to contest@torca.ca and include:
    • Location (eg: Eagle, Burke, Bert Flinn, trail name, city, etc.)
    • Your name, age and email address
    • Detailed caption – optional
  • Contest runs from November 1 – 25, 2017. Winner will be announced during AGM on November 29th, 2017
  • Special “Young Photographer” category (up to 17 years old)

Pitt Meadows Cycle has generously donated the following prizes:

1st Prize – MTB Helmet – Choice of Men’s Giant Rail or Women’s Liv Infinita
2nd Prize – $100 Gift Certificate to Pitt Meadows Cycle
3rd Prize – $50 Gift Certificate to Pitt Meadows Cycle

Young Photographer prize will be determined based on age of winner.

Trail day – Burke Mountain, Saturday October 14

Burke is getting a lot of love these days. Our friends from Norco Bicycles are sponsoring this trail day. We will be working on Frank’s again to finish up some of the sections we couldn’t complete last time.

When: Saturday, Oct. 14 at 9 AM
Where: Meet at the hairpin on Harper Road

Coffee, snacks, lunch and tools will be provided. Please bring water and a pair of comfortable work gloves if you have them.

NO BUILDING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Take A Kid Mountain Biking Day – Oct. 1, 2017

We are once again hosting another fun “Take A Kid Mountain Biking Day” on Sunday, October 1st, 2017.  The event is free and open to kids of all ages and abilities. The only requirements are a working bike and a helmet.

We have race plates for all participants, snacks and prizes! After some time in the skills park we will take a short ride through Mundy Park.

Please register your kiddo(s) at this link and hurry because it fills up quickly!

When: 10 AM – 12 PM
Where: Mundy Park Bike Skills Park (see Map).
